UNspace

The unique space is located underneath the sport stadium in Changchun. Combined in one space is a coffee bar, a clothing and lifestyles store, and an art gallery. The functions demanded that the space be flexible in order to make events and workshops possible. Spread through the space are small cubes that function as showrooms for the items to be sold while simultaneously acting as comfortable changing rooms designed like walk in closets. In this way one can enjoy a coffee and a cigarette all through the shop without the chance of harming any of the design items. The open space in between the cubes is multipurpose space and can be used as a café, shop, workshop area, gallery etc. In addition, all the mechanical and service spaces required are incorporated into the cubes, creating a flexible, uninterrupted space.
