1949 Furniture Design

The project for 1949: The hidden City, a Beijing established cultural center of restaurants, gallery space and bars, was a collaboration with Andy Lee and Connor Wingfield to design unique Furniture for the numerous unfurnished spaces. Our approach to the design of furniture for the 1949 restaurant, art gallery, and club facilities began with the intent to integrate the qualities of the site, 1949’s overall vision, as well as functionality in terms of future usage. The Noodle Bar stools are an example of one of the unique designs. In the noodle bar, we addressed the ideas of Intimate atmosphere, low light, and simple food and expressed that in detailed texture, basic materials and simple form.
